Spring is just a few
short weeks away, and we here at Edgefield Plant & Stone Center
are excited for the upcoming warm months! We are a garden
center serving Colfax NC, and we wanted to share a few of our
favorite tips on how to get your garden ready this spring.
Start by taking a
look at your flower beds. Clear out any debris and leaves that built
up during the winter months. Cut back the dead parts on any perennial
plants you have in your yard, and prune any trees you have while
you're at it. If you see any broken branches and want to cut them
off, make sure it's a clean cut so the tree will heal faster.
Then take another
look at your flower beds and start coming up with a plan for them. Do
you want to add any new plants or flowers? Visit our garden center to
browse through our selection. We can answer your questions, advise
you on how to best care for your plants and on which ones will work
best in this climate and environment.
You should also
start thinking about fertilizing your plants. If you already compost,
then you are one step ahead of the game! Compost is a great
fertilizer. Otherwise, visit our garden center and we can also advise
you on the best fertilizers to use.
Our garden center is
also a great place to shop for perennial plants and gardenias. The
early spring is the best time of year to shop for these types of
flowers and plants, so be sure to come by as soon as possible!
Finally, there are
plenty of rabbit and deer proof fences available, if these animals
are a problem for you.
