Landscaping Ideas for Winter

Winter is fast approaching, but a drop in temperature or the potential for snow on the ground doesn't necessarily mean that landscaping takes a back seat. In fact, there are several different plants and trees you can add to your property that are accentuated by the winter season. By following a few of these tips, you can still keep your yard looking beautiful, even when your summer landscaping treasures are missing.

Add Ornamental Grasses
Ornamental grasses are tall and thin, and really stick out during the winter months as their chutes jut up from the ground. You can find ornamental grasses with a few different colors and tints to match whatever look you're trying to achieve.

Install Shrubs
Some shrubs, such as the Beautyberry, the Dogwood, or the Red Edge Hebe, are looking their best during the winter months. Line your property or your home with these shrubs to add some color and excitement to the plain winter landscape.
